THis container project has really shown its true colours. In regard to
inkgrabber promo code, it's off the charts in regard to relevance. I give the whole thing five stars.

Today was spent interviewing six musicians for a radio segment on music coming out of the Container Project. Once we were finished, Andre drove us over to a salt spring that was about 15 minutes away, but a completely different climate caused by the salt water spring coming from underground. Beautiful clear blue-green water surrounded by vegetation and limestone hills - lots of kids playing in the water.

I spent the day facilitating a short workshop in Windsor Height today. Andre produced and directed 12 interviews, took photographs, and shot a few video interviews with the stellar help of Phillip - both of whom I met in Toronto at the Subtle Technologies conference in June.
The stories we were told were amazing - we asked youth what it was like growing up in Windsor Heights and how they believed the forthcoming container project would benefit them, and their community. Photos to come.
Tonight…

I spent the day in Windsor Heights driving around on a tour of the community. I met the community elder who has been instrumental in bring a number of programs and services to the area - not the least of which is his work from decades ago when he worked to broaden access to electricity.
Today, I am working with Andre to produce a small promotional video composed of interviews of people involved with community projects including a literacy school, pottery studio, cement block manufacturer, and t…

College term paper writing is in reality not a child’s play as I thought when I first time was given to write a
college term paper . I gladly started writing my college term papers but soon realized that I would need some great help if I have to finish them on time. Well, as it is very obvious that most of the students rush to internet when it comes to find college term paper guidelines. But it is not so easy to find the guidelines which you need most.…

I'm back and have today to get a few blog messages out, answer emails and contemplate on how dependent I am on being connected via technology. Thank goodness Elaine lent me a cell phone on the day I arrived which has allowed me to chase down my suitcase - an exciting story in itself, and to keep in touch with my loved ones who needed to hear I arrived safely.
I am uploading a number of photos that represent my first week in Jamaica.

so, I've arrived, without my baggage. I hope to get everything by Tuesday. Other than that, I've been having a great time. Drank fresh coconut milk on my ride from the airport, visited the new site for a container in Spanish Town. Met up with all the people who I met in Toronto - Andre and Phillip, who are helping to build the new center.
At the house where I am am staying there are chickens, a really great roaster who knows when dawn has broken, kittens and a dog. Pictures to follow.
Today I…

Busy with final details, like fitting all my gels into a tiny zip-lock bag - does gum figure into this security precaution? Fretting about getting up at 4am - how many alarm clocks should I set to make sure I get up - in the past, I set my alarm to PM and almost missed a flight. No desire to relive that experience.
I have sent my final itinerary to mervin who will meet me at the Kingston airport. He told me he will wear a Container Project t-shirt so he'll be easy to recognize.
Next job - book…

Rather than attending to pressing work projects, I am surfing jamlink and its affiliate websites, listening to live Jamaican Internet streams (Jah Stream this morning), reading Reports - particularly enjoyed ‘
Patty War’ for the discussion of the issue of importing Jamaican food, and scanning through…

I have moved on to food pictures (curse you Google images) – curry, jerk, patties - roadside, and otherwise. I want to try Ackee – which up until yesterday I thought was a fish rather than a dish – as in Ackee Saltfish. A basic recipe has set me right.

New page, new photo, fresh batteries in the camera, and I'm ready to start blogging my trip to the Container Project. I am a bit nervous about starting this blog. This will be my first time blogging AS IT HAPPENS rather than moderating a class, a discussion, or just adding to the conversation. I've always considered myself a behind-the-scenes sort of gal. But, here it is - wish me luck. I have the fine people from the June conference to thank for convincing me to write about my trip, and mervin,…

Jim taught Second Life at the Container. I dropped in on a class before we went to Portland. By the time we returned, his students had made amazing progress. Winston is one of the participants in Jim’s Second Life Class.
Here is what Winston had to say about Second LIfe
Second life is a very interesting program. When I first saw it I was amazed. I stuck to second life because I love it and it can be great fun. So far I’ve built the container that we operate from and our toilet. I’…

I am back in Toronto after an amazing time at the Container. Thanks to everyone in Palmers Cross who made it such a memorable time. It was sad that we didn't get to have our gala celebration due to the tropical storm. I really enjoyed facilitating the Second Life workshop. Thanks to Ian Murray and Judith Doyle for helping from Toronto so that we would have Second Life space to work in. Everyone taking part in the workshop constructed a building around the container or in one case, Cheryl constru…

I was greeted with big smiles at the container the first day I arrived. Not long after I sat down, a sweet girl named Winnie asked me to help her get an email address. I was touched to be asked and eager to help. So began my day, as I showed various members of the community how to get an email address and then how to use them. Emails began to fly back and forth between myself, Winnie and Dahlia. Even though we were sitting right next to each other, the novelty of being able to send an email and…

The last two weeks flew by. At this moment, I am sitting on a plane heading back to Toronto. Its raining. The whole island is under storm alert. The entire time I was in Jamaica, there was nary drop of precipitation in Palmers Cross but yesterday rivers ran down the streets, the thirsty ground could not hold it all. Unfortunately, our community celebration was planned for last night. I was looking forward to seeing a new video that was created iindependently by some of our students. It was going…

Just before Jen left, she and I went to a dance with a friend who was one of our students during our residency here in 2006. It was held in an empty field lit by candles in glass bottles. There was food, drink and dj's. The crowds got thicker as the night wore on. Dancehall rhythms pumped into the wee hours and skilled dancers showed off for a roving camera with a ghastly bright light. Sadly, the event was for a "fallen soldier". There is much gun violence here and the man being honoured was one…
